Our Story

How It All Began…

Picture of How It All Began…

It all started on June 30th at Salt in Merrick. Jenna was waiting in the outdoor seating area for him. We walked up to the hostess excited for our first date and soon realized that Paolo made the reservation for the following week. In typical Paolo fashion though, he made sure to get us a table. We connected quickly on traveling and time flew by. We chatted some more outside until the bugs annoyed us. We were excited to see each other again.

Paolo planned another amazing second date at Jones Beach to see the firework show. We recreated this date again this year. We loved watching the fireworks together, but trying to get out of the parking lot was a nightmare. Lucky enough though, Paolo packed snacks for us. I remember asking him if he normally eats in his car because it was VERY clean, to which he responded with, “no but it’s okay for tonight.” It was also the night I told him that I don’t like cheese and can’t have dairy which for an Italian was a big deal. No worries though, we had a third date.

After about a month of dating, we booked our Utah trip together. We both wanted to hike Zion and thought why not (we are both clearly Sagittarius). This is where we truly fell in love. We walked and got coffee & matcha together every morning. We hiked all day long and watched the stars at night. It is one of our favorite trips.

Shortly after that, we spent the day in Sag Harbor together, which quickly became a very special place for us. This is where Paolo first said I love you under the stars after dinner. Jenna said it right back to him because she was waiting.

Fast forward to June 9th, Paolo planned a beautiful day in Sag Harbor together. We also had a family dinner planned at Paolo’s house. The weather said it was going to rain so Jenna, being her stubborn self, told Paolo that maybe we should go to Sag Harbor another day. However, being Paolo’s stubborn self, he said no let’s go and good thing we did. It was the best day of our lives. We had an awesome brunch at Baron’s cove, walked to get coffee/matcha at our favorite little spot and then he led her to the pier near the windmill. He got down on one knee and before he could even say a word, Jenna screamed “YES!” We drove back to Paolo’s house where Jenna & Paolo’s family all celebrated together. It was the most amazing day ever!

The next day we started planning our wedding! We are so excited to get married and look forward to what the future holds for us!
